Sorry I couldn't join. Hopfully my internet troubles will be solved by next Sunday. In the mean time I'll be using the phone to check in.
Glad to hear it went well

I fell asleep and was in bed by then. Sorry I missed it. I have a deadline coming up that is sapping all my attention and energy so I may be scarce until the work is completed.

MM,
Sorry you guys couldn't make the meeting, but sh*t happens- realized I can't make next Sunday's, which saddens me- I've really started to look forward to the PIR meetings.
I'll be attending the one after, and many many more.

I just want to share something that happened to me during that on-line-meeting.

I had a huge AH-HA moment.

I've always had this "thing" with the uniqueness that is talked about in recovery.  I always got stuck on it and couldn't get past the idea that "they" were trying to make "us" all the same, that we are supposed to somehow give up all that we are and that is what makes us "sick".  Becoming the "drone" is what will keep us out of use.

What hit me like a tone of bricks last Sunday eve was that this dangerous uniqueness is the idea that no one can possibly know what I am thinking, feeling, or going through.  That there is absolutely NO ONE that could possibly understand.  This is the uniqueness that will keep us isolated and using.  Therefore it is of utmost importance for us - alcoholics and addicts - to share our experience, strength, and hope with one another.  To remember that we are not unique in our "loneliness and dispair".  There are others who can listen, understand, and help.

Thank you so much for Sunday's meeting.  Looking forward to next week.
